HOTEL REVIEWS: A Weekend at Curtain Bluff, Antigua

HOTEL REVIEWS: A Weekend at Curtain Bluff, Antigua

As Conde Nast Johansens Local Expert for the Caribbean, I get to travel to amazing 5 star resorts every month. I recently visited Curtain Bluff in Antigua, a premier location where the Resort's signature Bluff separates the Caribbean and the Atlantic. Guests therefore enjoy two pristine beaches: A Calm Caribbean Beach and a Surf Beach on the Atlantic, where all the guest rooms are found.

This trip was unique for several reasons. For starters when traveling for Conde Nast it's rare for me to spend 4 nights at the same Resort, but it's definitely the best way to capture the full experience. I am also normally traveling alone so I was thrilled that my cousin from NY could join me as well as my friend Kino MacGregor, who I work with to organize amazing yoga film trips around Caribbean and beyond.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Curtain Bluff Beach Front Rooms

ACCOMMODATIONS: Curtain Bluff Beach Front Rooms

Curtain Bluff's 72 spacious suites and guest rooms run along the palm-shaded, white-sand Surf Beach and rise up the rocky promontory that gives the resort its name.

Either right on the sand or just a few steps from it, all our accommodations have breathtaking, gaze-all-day views. Large, floor-to-ceiling windows and verandahs or ground-floor terraces look out over the beach and across the sea to a lush-green headland. At night, the scene is a canopy of stars and the only sound is the rhythm of the waves.

It’s hard to imagine a more picturesque setting than the one that greets you at Curtain Bluff. The Resort is perched on a rocky peninsula between two beautiful beaches on Antigua’s southern tip.

A modern enclave with old world charm and genuine service, Curtain Bluff has the feel of a delightful country club – one that nearly three-quarters of guests return to again (and again). Whether you opt for beach or bluff, all the rooms enjoy a stunning seascape. The décor is simple and stylish with cozy beds, wicker furniture and wooden accents, while floor-to-ceiling windows, and private verandas highlight the incredible views.
