Hotel Guide | Rancho Pacifico, Costa Rica

Rancho Pacifico is one of Costa Rica’s finest luxury resorts for adults. When time is your most valuable asset, days spent in this luxury rainforest hotel are days very well invested. Pamper yourself in the award-winning spa and enjoy the world-class dining. Read a book and try not to be distracted by the incredible ocean and mountain views.  Hike to the private waterfall and take in the natural wonder that surrounds you. The new covered yoga deck, with room for 20 mats, is tucked into the rainforest with stunning mountain top views of the Pacific. Rancho Pacifico is the perfect retreat location for those who really want a secluded rainforest experience while enjoying the comforts of true luxury.

LOCATION:

Located in Uvita, Costa Rica, Rancho Pacifico resort enjoys sweeping views of the Pacific coast, and at least a dozen pristine beaches are in close proximity.  Many of these beaches are located in the Marino Ballena National Park – one of only two national marine parks in Costa Rica. You will not find any high-rise condo buildings on the beaches here. Best of all, when your day at the beach is over, you can retreat to your cool mountaintop perch and get away from it all!

WHO SHOULD GO:

Rancho Pacifico is for everyone who wants to stay in a luxury tree house nestled in a mountain top rain forest. The resort is a collection of contemporary styled villas, each with its own privacy in the canopy, yet connected by manicured forest paths. All trails lead to the terraced common area which has an infinity pool, and restaurant/ bar. You can expect to do a fair share of walking on trails and you will need a true 4x4 vehicle to get to the mountain top destination. Keep in Mind Rancho Pacifico is Adult’s Only.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Rancho Pacifico has three different style accommodations: Luxury Villas, Luxury Tree Houses, and Luxury Suits. We stayed in one of the Luxury suits, and it was incredible. The suit is built into the mountain side. It has floor to ceiling glass throughout with breathtaking views. The Luxury Villas are complete with full service kitchens, multiple bedrooms and baths, and plunge pools. Perhaps the coolest rooms are the Tree houses. The tree houses seem to hang in the air off the mountain side. All accommodations are posh and all afford great privacy.

WELLNESS FEATURE:

Rancho Pacifico will cater to your dietary requirements. They have a new 20 person yoga deck tucked into the forest which happens to be along the path to the private waterfall. The spa has to have the best views of any spa we have ever been to.

DON'T MISS:

While staying at Rancho Pacifico make sure you request a surf lesson. The beach at Uvita is perfect for beginner surfers and the instructors are great. The concierge will make all the arrangements for you.

TRAVEL TIPS:

The further you get away from the airport in Costa Rica the more beautiful the country seems to get. Uvita is a few hours drive from San Jose. You do not have to have a 4x4 to get to Rancho Pacifico because you can park your car at the bottom of the mountain road and they will come and pick you up. If you want to drive into the resort yourself you will need a true 4x4 vehicle. Hiking shoes are also recommended If you want to take advantage of all the resort has to offer. Bring your camera, drone, and gopro because the views are really that spectacular.

“The views at Rancho Pacifico are worth the price. Staying there feels like being in an eagle’s nest perched high above the Pacific. Being high in the rainforest there are exotic animals to encounter like sloth and toucans. The food is elegant and prepared with fresh local ingredients. You can not go anywhere in the the resort without an expansive vista including your bed”
