5 TravelWELL Tips

Traveling can really take a toll on the body, especially long flights with connections. Here are a few tips to balanced & WELL while traveling. 

 

1. Stay Hydrated

There is no doubt that Water is the best way to hydrate your body. Water allows proper circulation, boosts your mood and prevents fatigue. Limit the amount of coffee or alcohol you may have while traveling as this will dehydrate you. Buy a bottle of water as soon as you pass through security. 

2. Be Rested

Be sure to rest WELL the night before traveling. The physical act of traveling can be exhausting and you never know if you’ll experience delays or cancelations. 

3. Move Your Body

Don't be Shy about moving your body. Sitting for long periods of time creates pain and tension in the body. Blood clots can be a serious risk for some people. Increase blood flow with simple stretches and be sure to get up and walk on the plane.  Here are a few great stretches that can be easily done from your seat. 

           *Shoulder Rolls & Head Circles help to relieve tension in the neck

           *Spinal Twists are my personal favorite while traveling. 

          *Ankle Circles and Toe Stretches are great to get the circulation moving. 

          *Face Stretches help to relieve stress and rejuvenate the whole body. 

4. Dress Comfortable

Wear loose comfortable clothes while traveling and don’t forget to pack something warm as airports and planes can be very cold. I travel with a Pima Cotton Blanket by YOGiiZA, long sleeves and pants, even to the Caribbean. Organic Yoga Clothes are ideal for traveling. I also like to pack socks for the plane. 

5. Essential Carry-on Items

Here are some essential carry-on items that will make your travel much happier. 

          *Pack extra travel battery to recharge iPhone

          *Remember Healthy Snacks, such as Nuts, Bananas and Apples and don't forget to buy water after passing through security. 

          *doTERRA Pure therapeutic grade essential oils - This was a lifesaver for me this last trip. I started feeling sick on day 3 and used the On Guard Protective Blend and about 24 hours later I felt better. Peppermint helps with headaches and fatigue, DigestZen helps with Nausea and On Guard will fight off any germs you come in contact with. 

          *When traveling to the Caribbean be mindful of the size of your carry-on bag as you will have to carry it up stairs to board the airplane. This is a good time to check your luggage and carry on a small hand bag with essential items.
