Meet Amy Dannheim

 

OC: How did you begin your Journey to Living a Conscious Lifestyle?

I was working a stressful corporate job and my life didn't have any balance. I wasn't taking care of myself properly. I discovered a yoga class on Sunday mornings that I could take and it made me feel so much healthier. I started doing yoga more regularly and figuring out how to fit it into my life, until I was finally able to make the change to teaching yoga full-time.

OC: What are your Personal Wellness Rituals or Routines?

I love coffee so I start every day with it. I cook and ride my bike daily as both practices of joy and meditation. I get 8 hours of sleep and practice yoga as often as I can. I eat as much fresh food as I can and end every night with a mug of herbal tea.

OC: Is there a particular place in the World that inspires you most?

I love traveling to New York City for inspiration - I find the food, the energy and the experiences to be creative and and innovative. I always leave with a spark of inspiration!

OC: What are your essential items to Pack for a Wellness Retreat?

A swimsuit, a notebook, a yoga outfit and a camera!

OC: If there is one thing you hope for people to take away from your Retreat what would it be?

I alway set the intention at retreats for love and connection, both for ourselves and the people around us. My hope is that people walk away feeling happier and like they got to know themselves more and realize how wonderful they are.

OC: How has your Yoga & Spiritual practice changed your life?

Through yoga, I shifted my life completely from being a manager at a corporate retailer to opening my own yoga studio and being a full-time yoga teacher. Yoga has given me the confidence to step in entrepreneurship and the support system to help me grow. It's given me new friends, new experiences, amazing opportunities, closer relationships, and a fresh set of eyes with which to see the world.
