Today I am enjoying this beautiful afternoon at the prestigious Fisher Island Resort & Club. Located just minutes from Miami Beach on a private island, Fisher Island is for sure one of the most exclusive resorts and residences in South Florida.

This private island escape is built with rich history. In 1926 William K Vanderbilt II traded his 250 foot luxury yacht for the island owned by Carl Fisher. The Vanderbilt Mansion was built in 1936 and remains the focal point of the club. My favorite is the 200 year old giant Banyan Tree in the Courtyard that was actually imported from India!

The Resort features only 15 villas where guests enjoy island life in style. Each of the Mediterranean inspired villas feature their own private courtyards with jacuzzis, fine linens and baby alpaca throws. Guests also get a golf cart and bikes to explore the island. There's lots to see enjoy including 6 signature restaurants to satisfy any palette, a private beach club, world class golf, tennis, spa, beautiful lush trees, exotic birds and plenty of hideaways to take in the quiet nature that surrounds.

Something very unique to Fisher Island is the colorful feathered friends that roam the island. These peacocks are impressive to look at and greet you on arrival.  I love how nature truly gives us the best art!

Next time traveling to Miami consider Fisher Island for your exclusive home away from home. Or look out for a charity event to attend at Fisher Island.
